Pinterest

Pinterest is a “virtual pinboard” for organizing your interests.

Have you heard about Pinterest? It’s a “virtual pinboard” that combines social media, photo sharing and bookmarking.  Pinterest allows you to organize your interests and share them with the world.  Anything that you find on the web, or any pictures you upload, can be placed on a “board” with a descriptive caption.

There are a million different ways that you can use Pinterest. For example, you can create a board to collect ideas, create goals, save recipes, plan an event, or list your favorite books or movies. Create boards for whatever interests you and then “pin” links to various websites or upload pictures to each board. Other users with similar interests can follow your boards for inspiration, and you can follow theirs.

Pinterest is a great way to get ideas, learn about new products, and connect with people. But, most importantly, it’s a great way to organize your life. And, it would be excellent for organizing your move.

Moving can be a disaster if you aren’t organized. Using a website like Pinterest can help you plan ahead so that moving is easy and stress-free. Here are several ways that Pinterest can help.

Create a supplies list. Use Pinterest to collect a list of the moving supplies you need. Boxes, tape, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, etc. You can list the number of each item that you need in the caption. For instance, you can pin medium-sized moving boxes and caption it with “Need 25 medium moving boxes.”

Price Tag

Put a dollar amount in the caption to help form a budget.

Create a budget for your move. Attribute a price in the caption of each pinned item. If you pin a link to packing tape on your moving supplies board, write “Need 5 rolls of packing tape. $3.85 per roll.” Pinterest will automatically put a banner across the upper left corner of your pinned item showing the amount. This will help you create a budget for your move.

Plan what you need to bring on the road. If you have a long drive ahead of you, plan what items you need to bring with you, such as toys or games for the kids, snacks, emergency phone numbers, flares, etc…

Plan your route. If you’re moving far away, you can plan your route and pin interesting places that you want to stop and visit along the way.

Organize your apartment hunt. Pin the website of each apartment complex you want to tour. In the caption, write notes about the pros and cons of each community. Delete the pins of the communities that you aren’t interested in to help narrow your search.

Use the iPhone Pinterst app while on the go.

As you can see there are many ways to use Pinterest to organize your life and your move. You can also download the Pinterest app on your iPhone to access your boards on the go.
